The next and most critical two steps in the ULURP process for Dock Street are coming up. The first, on March 4th at 12 noon, is with the City Planning Commission. The CPC as it is known, is notoriously pro-development; furthermore, we have learned that City officials believe that we, the local communities, support the project. Please come forward to convince the City that we are for the Bridge and against a project this tall, so close to this national treasure.
And many thanks to all those who have come forward to testify (twice) and to those who have written and emailed Borough President Markowitz. We have been perceived as the small community with the large voice and other associations have remarked on the quality of Fulton Ferry residents’ comments at both hearings.
However, it is critical that we continue to participate for the next two hearings. Please come and tell the City Planning Commission how important the Bridge is to you, New York and the world: Wednesday, March 4th, noon, 22 Reade St. Manhattan. Two time Pulitzer prize winning author David McCullough has indicated he will attend in person this time, so won’t you come too? (see his letter to Markowitz below)
